MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police say a person tried to ram his pick-up truck right into a Minneapolis fireplace station Thursday evening to assault a lady inside who was being protected by firefighters.
Officers have been referred to as to the Minneapolis Hearth Division’s Station 8 on the 2700 block of Blaisdell Avenue at about 7:16 p.m. on a report of a person attempting to drive inside. They arrived to search out firefighters bodily detaining a person.
A lady stated she was attempting to get away from the person “who refused to cease following her,” and he or she ran to close by firefighters for assist.
Police say the person drove as much as the station, and firefighters stood outdoors between his truck and the girl to guard her. After he refused to heed their instructions to go away, and he began driving slowly in the direction of the girl, firefighters opened the station’s bay doorways to get inside.
The person then tried to ram by the bi-fold door and breach the station, however his truck obtained caught. Firefighters then popped his tires, disabled the truck and held the person till police arrived.
He was taken to Hennepin County Jail, and is predicted to be charged with assault. Nobody was damage, and the fireplace station continues to be open and operational Thursday evening.
